Contractor wins deal to replace existing 40-year-old facility
Bam has landed a £26m deal to build a new lesiure centre on the outskirts of Dover in Kent.
Work on the scheme at Whitfield will begin later this month and is due to finish in early 2019. The new centre will replace a 40-year-old complex.
The job for the local council will include a standard eight-lane swimming pool with seating for up to 250 people, learner pool, sports hall, squash courts, fitness gym and café.
In addition, the plans also include two artificial football pitches and 250 parking spaces.
