Camden council shortlists two for schools programme
Teams led by BAM and Bouygues have been shortlisted for the £250m Camden Building Schools for the Future programme.
BAM PPP and Bouygues PEC were selected by the London borough to bid for the role of local education partner on its BSF programme.
Work on the £250m programme is expected to start in September 2010 with the construction of the UCL-sponsored Academy at Swiss Cottage.
Andrew Mennear, Camden council’s executive member for schools, said: “Both the bidders are very experienced companies which certainly bodes well for our BSF programme. We will now enter detailed discussions with both bidders to determine which would be best placed to help us deliver these ambitious plans which will transform learning in Camden for all our young people.”
The council is also discussing with both bidders the possibility of using the BSF programme to provide a range of apprenticeships for school leavers in the area.
