Arup Associates’-design pool to hang 35m in the air at Embassy Gardens scheme
Arup Associates has designed a swimming pool 35m up in the air that will link one building to the next at the Embassy Gardens scheme in London.
The pool will allow residents to swim across to the neighbouring building at the 10th storey. It features a sky deck which incorporates a spa and summer bar. The engineer on the 25m long pool is Eckersley O’Callaghan.
The Embassy Gardens scheme is being built in the Nine Elms area of the capital, where the new US embassy is going up, and will include close to 2,000 homes.
Ballymore was behind the first phase of Embassy Gardens but earlier this year sold a 75% stake in the development to Malaysian property firm Eco World and the second phase is now being developed by Eco World Ballymore.
AHMM and Feilden Clegg Bradley Studios are among the firms working on the next phase of the Embassy Gardens scheme which is being built next to Kieran Timberlake’s US embassy, due to open in 2017.
