Balfour Beatty holds on to top spot in November as £300m civils job pushes Skanska up to second place
Balfour Beatty took the top spot for the second consecutive month in November, after winning 38 projects worth a total of £459.5m. The biggest of these was a £48m M1 roads project, awarded by the Highways Agency.
Skanska won the largest contract in November, a £300m civils job in Nottinghamshire that pushed the Swedish contractor up two places to second in the monthly table. It also went up four places to seventh in the annual league, with a total of £1.1bn projects under its belt over the past year.
Laing O’Rourke dropped three places in the rolling annual contractors’ league, despite winning five projects worth £62.5m in November.
Kier fared better in the yearly table, where changes at the top are rare, moving up two places to third position. Kier won 58 projects worth a total of £101.7m.
Montpellier was pushed out of the top 30 in the annual league, whereas Galliford Try climbed 19 places to 14th.
