Contractor to link Humber wind farm to the national grid

Balfour Beatty has reached financial close on a £163m project to link a 73-turbine wind farm 8km off the coast of Yorkshire to the national grid.

The Humber Gateway project is Balfour’s fourth offshore transmission job to reach financial close.

The high-voltage electriciy transmission will link E.ON’s offshore wind farm in the North Sea to the grid, chanelling enough power for around 170,000 homes a year.
