Balfour Kilpatrick and Haden Young have been combined to become the UK's largest M&E firm
Construction and engineering firm Balfour Beatty has formed a new operating company focusing on mechanical and electrical engineering, which it says will be the largest of its type in the UK.
Balfour Beatty Engineering Services is a merger of two of the company's acquisitions, Balfour Kilpatrick and Haden Young, which have previously operated as separate specialist businesses.
The new firm will have revenue of £600m and will offer national and regional coverage.
Balfour Beatty managing director John Moore said the firm would consolidate strong positions in the regional M&E, healthcare and education, power systems and power project markets and provide a single point of contact for customers.
