Deal will include work on road and construction of 3,500 new homes
North East Lincolnshire council has appointed Balfour Beatty as preferred bidder for its physical regeneration, property and technical services partnership.
The deal will last 10 years and will deliver regeneration projects in Grimsby, Cleethorpes, Immingham and on the South Humber Bank.
Work will also be done on the region’s roads and 3,500 new homes will be built.
Ian Tyler, chief executive of Balfour Beatty, said: “We will deploy the capabilities of the Balfour Beatty group and develop and build on the strengths of transferring staff to deliver a programme focused on job creation, inward investment and substantial service improvement.”
The council will deploy 137 workers to the partnership, which aims to raise a minimum of £570m of public and private sector investment into the region.
