Gammon Construction will redevelop the Hennessey Centre as a 36-storey office and retail scheme
A Balfour Beatty joint venture has been awarded a contract worth £120m for an office and retail redevelopment scheme in Hong Kong.
Gammon Construction, Balfour Beatty's joint venture company in South-east Asia, won the contract from Hysan Development Company for the redevelopment of the Hennessy Centre in the Causeway Bay district of Hong Kong.
The 36-storey office-led scheme will include a four-level car park and retail basement located in one of the most vibrant commercial and entertainment districts of Hong Kong. Construction will be completed in 2011.
The Hennessy Centre redevelopment is the first Hong Kong building project to have achieved pre-certification of the highest, platinum level under the US Green Building Council's Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design scheme.
