Joint venture with Fluor is picked for design-build highway scheme near Dallas
A joint venture comprising Balfour Beatty and Fluor has secured a £252m road-building contract in Texas.
The two firms were selected by the North Texas Tollway Authority to carry out the design-build highway project near Dallas.
The project is the latest win for Balfour Beatty in America, where its operations now account for 30% of group revenue.
The scheme centres on a 6.5-mile stretch of highway and will see the construction of two new main lanes plus connector ramps and bridges. Design work is due to start next month.
Balfour Beatty chief executive Ian Tyler said: “This contract further enhances our position as a leading highways and tollway contractor in Texas.”
