Contractor will deliver £42m tower containing 454 student apartments
Balfour Beatty has won another tower in Nine Elms, south London, this time a 33-storey student accommodation block for client Urbanest.
The £42m tower - which is a stone’s throw from the £1bn One Nine Elms twin tower project Balfour sealed the pre-construction stage for last month - will include 454 student apartments and communal study and social areas.
Green features will include PV panels, a green roof and a combined heat and power unit. Construction will begin imminently and is scheduled to complete in summer 2018.
Balfour has already delivered 2,520 student homes for Urbanest as part of a long-running partnership.
John Keaveney, regional managing director for Balfour Beatty said, “We are looking forward to continuing our longstanding relationship with Urbanest. Vauxhall Square is an important part of London’s development by incorporating the local student population into the local community and we’re pleased to be a part of the wider project”.
