Turner’s retirement signals start of non-exec shake-up.

Babcock International says that one of its non-executive directors, Mike Turner, is to step down from the board at the end of 2005. Mr Turner has served as a director for nine years; his retirement is part of a series of changes among the group’s non-executive directors, a number of whom have held their positions for long periods by the standards of the Higgs recommendations on board composition.

Chairman Gordon Campbell said: “Mike has made an outstanding contribution during his nine years as a non-executive director of Babcock. He has had a major input into our success, both in terms of the group's strategic direction and its delivery of that strategy.”
