Consultant to make redundancies across nine UK offices

Atkins is to cut up to 260 jobs in its UK business as the impact of recession continues to affect the consultancy sector.

The firm said today that 260 staff at its UK regional design business are undergoing redundancy consultation. The cuts will affect nine offices: in Birmingham, Cardiff, Edinburgh, London, Newcastle, Sheffield, Leeds, Stockton and Oxford.

The cuts come a week after Atkins confirmed 210 job cuts at its Dubai and Manila businesses.
