Despite loss group says profit growth remains in line with expectations and orders remain solid
Job losses have cost Atkins £10m, its results revealed today. The Epsom-based engineering and design group has made 1,200 staff redundant since Christmas.
Despite this, the firm said profit growth remained in line with expectations and that orders remained solid. The firm is working on the Olympic park as well and is part of the team that will carry out the £5bn widening of the M25 motorway. Atkins said it was still winning work in the Middle East, though confidence in the sector “has yet to return.”
Atkins added that its pension deficit had widened to £224m after tax owing to falling asset prices.
