Consultant says acquisition will give it platform for growth in gas and oil markets
Atkins has aquired an oil and gas business from energy consultant Pöyry for £15.59m.
The deal will see 130 Pöyry employees in Aberdeen, Stavanger and Perth being transferred to Atkins’ payroll.
Atkins said the aquisition of Pöyry’s design capabilities would allow it to grow its global oil and gas business, and in particular would gain it access to gas markets in Western Australia and Europe.
Keith Clarke, chief executive, said: “This acquisition represents a step up in Atkins’ ability to deliver process-led multi-disciplinary projects, adding to our traditional oil and gas consultancy and assurance services, on a worldwide scale.”
In March Atkins acquired the Technical Services Scotland group from RWE npower.
