Atkins acquires civil and military aerospace specialist with a turnover of £3.5m last year
Atkins has acquired Dutch aerospace consultancy Nedtech Engineering B.V. The conditional takeover is due for completion by the end of December 2007.
The company specialises in civil and military aerospace structures, and system and engine design. The consultancy’s turnover came up to £3.5m last year and gross assets were registered at £1.9m.
Ivor Catto, managing director of Atkins' design and engineering solutions Business, commented: “This acquisition enhances Atkins' capability to deliver high-end engineering and project management services to aerospace customers across Europe and positions us well for further growth in the sector.” He especially stressed on the importance for Atkins to respond to restructuring within Airbus.
Founder and managing director of Nedtech, Wim van Beinum, said: “We are delighted to be joining Atkins' 300-strong team of people working on aerospace projects. I look forward to combining our skills to enhance the services we can provide to aerospace customers.”
