Cala Homes developing Long Marston site
Cala Homes has appointed architect JTP to design a new Garden Village at a former Second World War air force base in Warwickshire.
The site at Long Marston Airfield (pictured) near Stratford-upon-Avon is one of 14 the government earmarked earlier this year which could provide an extra 48,000 homes.
The 205 ha site is set to see 3,500 homes built along with two primary schools and a secondary school. Cycle routes and footpaths will be prioritised over cars while a series of green corridors will criss-cross the site.
The government’s wider Garden Villages programme stretches from Cornwall to Cumbria and includes a site in the Oxfordshire Cotswolds which will provide around 2,200 new homes and science park, six miles from the centre of Oxford.
