AYH owner and Bioengineering Group win £77m contract for Hurricane Katrina reconstruction work
Arcadis, the international consultant and owner of UK firm AYH, has won up to $150m (£77m) of post Hurricane Katrina reconstruction work in New Orleans.
In a joint venture with Bioengineering Group, Arcadis will carry out general design support services, consultancy and construction management services on behalf of the US Army in New Orleans.
Steve Blake, Arcadis chief executive in the US, said: “I want to extend our commitment to the Army Corps and the people of Louisiana to provide dedicated flood protection.”
According to Arcadis, the contract is the first one awarded looking at future design solutions for post Katrina hurricane and flood protection in the Gulf Coast.
Initially it is a one-year contract with four possible extensions of one year each.
