Dutch group continues acquisition spree by snapping up project management outfit APS
Listed Dutch engineering and consultancy group Arcadis continued its acquisition spree in the UK this week by buying project management and QS firm APS. Arcadis has bought 100% of APS’ UK business and 70% of its operation in Dubai.
The latest buy follows Arcadis’ acquisition of architectural firm RTKL last month and QS and project management group AYH in 2005. AYH led the APS acquisition. APS has a turnover of £9m and a workforce of 70.
Arcadis director Michiel Jaski said: “The acquisition of APS further reinforces our presence in the UK project management market and establishes a base in the Middle East. APS will strengthen Arcadis Worldwide Project Consulting that enables us to support our clients in managing their global property portfolios and development plans.”
“This transaction represents an excellent structure for APS to maximize the growth opportunities the business is currently experiencing. In addition it will also increase the opportunities for our management and staff to develop within a truly global organization,” said Eric Wallace, chairman of APS.
