Annual house price inflation fell from 12.6% to 6.9% in April, while prices fell 0.8% between March and April 2005.

The annual growth in house prices has fallen sharply according to new figures from the ODPM. The UK house price inflation rate fell from 12.6% in March 2005 to 6.9% in April 2005.

The ODPM also reported that house prices fell 0.8% between March and April 2005. The average house price in April stood at £181,832 compared to £183,346 in March.

The ODPM said that the erosion of house prices was led by the prices for detached houses, which fell by 3.5% from March to April. Flats fell by 0.4%.

All the home counties saw a fall in house price inflation between March and April. In London inflation of house prices fell from 9.8% in March to 2.7% in April due to a fall of 1.4% in prices between March and April compared to a 5.5% rise in the same period last year.
