Scheme drawn up by local architect
A 129-home development in Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter has been given the green light by city planners.
The Lamp Works, which is being developed by Blackswan Property, is set to be built on land at Barr Street and Great Hampton Street.
Designed by local practice BPN, the development will also include 10,000ft2 of commercial space, courtyards, traditional shop fronts and public spaces.
The developer plans to demolish all the existing buildings on the site apart from 30-33 Great Hampton Street.
The application was amended since its original submission in December 2018 by removing a sixth floor of accommodation and revising the building designs, which have reduced the number of apartments by seven units.
