Support services group wins for second year running as industry regatta enjoys record attendance
The 20th annual Little Britain Challenge Cup enjoyed record breaking attendance over the weekend, with over 3,000 people racing 251 boats and helping to raise more than £130,000 for charity.
The overall winner of the LBCC 2007 was the Amey Love Shack (Amey Plc), a feat the support services group has now managed for two years running. The First Overall Cruising Yacht Tarckett Sommer Trophy was taken by Mitie.
The largest annual construction industry yachting regatta in Europe, the LBCC is attended by contractors, property developers, agents, architects, clients and trade contractors. Event chairman said of the day “Little Britain provides the construction industry with a fantastic opportunity to enjoy a first class yachting experience in a highly sociable environment.”
Building magazine’s boat was notably absent from anything resembling the top of the leader board, coming in 203rd from a total of 249 competitors in the Cup category. Better luck next year.
