Engineer acquires AllDeco for £11.1m as part of strategy to expand international nuclear business
Engineering company Amec has bought a Slovak nuclear services firm for £11.1m.
The group said it had acquired AllDeco, which employs 112 nuclear engineers, designers, chemists and operators in Slovakia and the Czech Republic.
The purchase is the latest move in Amec’s strategy to strengthen its position in the international nuclear sector.
Earlier this month, it was appointed to the £1.3bn clean-up contract at Sellafield as part of a consortium including Areva and the Washington Group and last month it was shortlisted for a £40bn nuclear programme in the UAE.
Chief executive Samir Brikho said: “This is an excellent acquisition for Amec. AllDeco will strengthen our capabilities and improve our standing as a leading player in nuclear decommissioning and reactor services in the UK, Europe and around the world.”
AllDeco managing director Dusan Majersky added: “We are pleased to be joining Amec at a time when the nuclear industry is poised for significant growth.”
