A recently completed £1.2m public library in Alton, Hampshire, has been built on a brownfield site and is a fitting addition to the historic town.
Designed by Hampshire council, the building is constructed of handmade bricks and other materials that are sympathetic to the local townscape, yet maintains an unmistakable contemporary feel.
