Olympic Park masterplanners EDAW and Allies and Morrison have drawn up plans for the future of Barking town centre in Essex.
Architect Allies and Morrison is putting the finishing touches to a framework for Barking and Dagenham council.
Bob Allies, partner at Allies and Morrison, said the framework would provide direction for development plans in the town centre, which is in the Thames Gateway.
He said: "Our framework will be used by the local authority to provide for future planning decisions. It's not a masterplan but will be used in place of one so the council can go ahead with development. Most of the land is owned by the local authority and local developers and will become available over the next few years."
Allies and Morrison incorporated work done last year by EDAW and architect Rick Mather into its plan. EDAW was asked by the council to look at the station quarter while Rick Mather drew up proposals for the London Road urban block.
Several projects are already on site in Barking town centre, including a £100m mixed-use scheme by Redrow Regeneration.
