Discount supermarket chain plans to hire 8,000 new staff in expansion plans
Aldi has announced plans to open more than 130 new stores and hire 8,000 more staff as part of a £600m UK expansion.
The discount supermarket chain has overtaken Waitrose to become the sixth-biggest supermarket in the UK with 5.3% market share.
The new stores will see the chain’s workforce first to a total of 35,000, the firm is looking to build small-scale stores with a build value of £1m-£3m each rather than the superstores of Sainsbury’s and Tesco.
