Bill Bolsover, who built up company to a £1.5bn business, will leave in March
Aggregate Industries’ Bill Bolsover is to retire as UK chief executive officer in March 2010, after 38 years in the construction materials business.

AI UK, which became part of the Holcim Group in 2005, grew to a £1.5bn organisation under Bolsover’s leadership, which involved a number of acquisitions. He will become non-executive chairman of the AI Europe board of directors and will remain a member of the AI US board.
Bolsover will be replaced by Alain Bourguignon, who is currently CEO of Holcim Spain and has experience of both the aggregate and ready-mix concrete business.
Benoit Koch, chairman of AI UK and a member of the Holcim Group executive committee, said: “We are hugely grateful to have had Bill at the helm of our UK interests for the last four years. He is a dynamic and charismatic leader whose vision, strategic awareness and energy have delivered a strong performance despite difficult economic conditions and intense competition.”
