Current head moves to become major projects director

Aecom has poached a director from French rail firm Alstrom to become its new UK and Ireland head of rail.

Susan Evans (pictured) was a managing director at the French firm, where she delivered an extension to the Nottingham tram network.

Starting at Aecom this month, she will now be responsible for leading the firm’s multi-disciplinary rail, bridges and structures team.

Aecom currently has a role supporting Mott MacDonald on its engineering work on HS2.

Evans replaces John Longthorne, who moves to become a major projects director.
