Aecom boosts rail consultancy business with aquisition of UK consultant
Aecom has acquired UK consultant Tritech Rail in a bid to boost its rail consultancy business.
Tritech Rail was founded in 1999 and has its headquarters in Wigan, Lancashire. It employs around 100 people and specialises in areas including infrastructure surveying and design as well as electrification.
Recent projects include the East London line, Victoria Line upgrade, Thameslink programme and surveying for the Dublin Area Rapid Transit railway in the Republic of Ireland.
David Watters, managing director of Aecom’s transportation business in Europe, said: “We are particularly delighted that we are now able to offer clients a broader range of services including: infrastructure surveying and design (permanent way and electrification), route clearance and structure gauging analysis, project and technical support from feasibility through to commissioning.”
The Tritech Rail deal continues Aecoms’s growth and investment in its rail consultancy business which in May included the acquisition of Inosca Ingenieria, which is headquartered in Spain and has more than 550 employees with offices across Europe and Latin America.
