Firm appoints former EC Harris partner Peter Mumford, sets ambition to grow to 200 staff
Aecom has boosted its new dedicated programme management arm with the recruitment of EC Harris partner Peter Mumford and set its ambition to grow the business to 200 staff within three years.
Peter Mumford was formerly head of programme and project management at EC Harris, where he led bids for global jobs for Microsoft, HSBC and the National Grid.
He has joined Aecom as head of programme leadership, reporting to the director of the business, Paul Dyson.
The business focuses on the full range of programme management disciplines including risk management; project controls; programme leadership; procurement and supply chain consulting; and scheduling and planning.
Mumford said the division has won work from the Education Funding Agency, Infrastructure UK and Transport for London - where it is acting as an independent oversight for its Programme Management Office running the tube upgrade – since his arrival in January.
The division currently has 45 staff but its pipeline of work will take it to over 60 within the next two months.
Mumford said: “The model elsewhere is of disparate teams within a company brought together on a one-off basis for the benefit of large clients. This a permanent team and it shows Aecom walking to walk when it comes to programme management.”
Dyson, director of programme consulting, said: “This is not about bums on seats, it’s about responding to the strategic business needs of clients.”
