Design by Martha Schwartz has been controversial because it will involve building over historic Union Terrace Gardens
Aberdeen residents are set to be consulted about controversial plans for a new square designed by US landscape architect Martha Schwartz, and proposed by energy magnate Sir Ian Wood, head of the Wood Group.
The £140m Civic Square development would be built over the city's historic Union Terrace Gardens, but business leaders say it would revitalise the centre of Aberdeen and create a heart for the city.
