Sustrans, the sustainable transport charity, is developing a proposal for London’s first cycling bridge over the Thames.
A feasibility study commissioned by Transport for London and carried out by engineer Ramboll Whitbybird has just been completed. The bridge would connect Southwark and Canary Wharf. If built, it would stretch 280m and be the longest span open cycling and pedestrian bridge in the world.
