Newham beginnings: Work begins on the demolition of 13 derelict homes in Newham, east London. The £4.1m scheme will turn the site into 42 homes for key workers for Newham NHS Trust. Designed by Calford Seaden and built by Denne Construction, the scheme for Presentation Housing Association will be completed in 2005.
