SAP 2005 will work out complex calculations required for newly released energy regulation

A new software programme is now available to work out complex calculations needed for the new Part L building regulations. The programme, called the SAP 2005 and produced by outfit JPA/TL, has been approved by the government's Department of Communities and Local Government following testing by the Building Research Establishment (BRE).

The software will handle the calculations necessary to determine target emission rates for dwellings. Users can assess their proposals during the design stage and deomstrate compliance of their finished design when making a submission for buidling regulatiosn approval, a statement from the firm said.
