BT redcare has introduced redcare assure, its new broadband-based security monitoring solution. It combines a dual-path IP alarm signalling system with video monitoring technology, and signals a significant shift towards IP monitoring acceptance from the end-user perspective.

BT said: "The fully integrated IP video/alarm system provides users with on-demand access to video footage of their premises that can be used to ensure personal safety and verify intruder alerts, together with a fully standards-compliant alarm monitoring system with a wireless back-up path.

"As an authorised user, you will be able to view your premises when an alarm is activated and access real-time video images, recorded footage and alarm activity logs, enabling you to monitor activity at your site whenever you require."

Its redcare assure star product is a single unit providing ADSL modem, which offers the landline primary path and broadband internet access for one or many computers. The secondary path is via GPRS modem and aerial.

BT redcare says its assure service offers a number of benefits to the business user, and to the installer. It enables monitoring of opening/closing activity; provides secure remote monitoring of internal security and business operations via the internet; and managing the security environment via secure web transmission.

No third-party intermediaries are involved in the transmission path, and BT redcare retains complete responsibility for monitoring the data transmission path from the supervised premises to the annunciation equipment at the ARC.
