So, Denton and Reddish MP Andrew Bennett says his own experience of stock transfer in Tameside is that “tenants have seen little or no improvement” (20 February, page 12).

He’s obviously spending his last months as an MP in committees or outside his own constituency. Perhaps he should be more aware of the dramatic improvement in our tenants’ satisfaction with every part of the service that transferred from Tameside council to New Charter nearly four years ago.

And there’s good news – his constituency has our most satisfied tenants of all.

Across the group, eight out of 10 tenants are happy, and we’re only less than halfway through our investment promises.

Bennett’s comment beggars belief. I’m looking forward to my next meeting with him!
