More than 2000 m of aemsa steel-wire cable tray from Mita has been installed by Rotary in Belfast

The pared-down style of IKEA’s furniture stores is always instantly recognisable, and its recently opened Belfast store is no exception.

With more than 2000 m of Mita’s aemsa steel-wire cable tray on full view throughout the building, the store’s electrical services are a key element of its rather individual style.

Specified by consultant Wallace Whittle and installed by electrical contractor Rotary, the aemsa steel-wire cable tray has been used for containment of data and fire alarm cabling at IKEA’s Belfast store, along with some of the power cabling.

The tray is suspended from the ceiling, and the cables are all clearly visible to the store’s customers.

Combining a lightweight structure with strength, aemsa was chosen for its speed of installation and ease of use. The installation team custom-shaped and fixed bends on site.

“The functional design and practicality of Mita’s aemsa steel-wire cable tray make it an ideal match for the famous furniture brand,” says Gail Whincup, marketing manager at Mita.
