9:55AM UK’s largest independent stainless steel stockholder appoints consultant Wakemans for new facility in Aldridge

Construction and property consultancy Wakemans has been appointed to oversee the interest of Metalfin (UK) Limited during the development of its new £3.8m distribution centre in Aldridge.

The firm’s divisional director, James Shelley said of the appointment: “Metalfin is a successful, growing business with relocation a key part of its long term business plan. It had been looking for a property that would meet its commercial needs, be easily accessible and accommodate its 40-strong Midlands workforce.”

Wakemans is acting as tenant’s agent for Metalfin. The firm is relocating from two leased units at Aldridge’s Red Rooster Industrial Estate to a new 65,000 sq ft purpose-built facility approximately one mile away at Anchorbrook Industrial Estate.

Shelley added: “We are responsible for monitoring the project on behalf of Metalfin, to ensure the premises adhere to the specified build quality and are completed according to budget and on schedule.”

Hortons’ Estate is developing the warehouse and two-storey offices.

Contractor Quantum started on site in July with Metalfin planning to take up residence in February 2007.
