Stylish German car manufacturer Mercedes-Benz has designed what it refers to as a 'special protection vehicle'.
Effectively an armoured car for executives, the Guard car is offered in three different models – the E-Guard, S-Guard and G-Guard.

At first glance it's difficult to tell that the Guard car is any different from other Mercedes models. On closer inspection, though, it's obvious that the armour-reinforced doors are heavier than a standard sedan, and that the polycarbonate glass windows are thicker than those in conventional models.

"There's always been interest in such a vehicle in the UK," said Rob Allan, manager of special vehicles at Mercedes-Benz in the USA – where the cars have recently been introduced. "Until now we just didn't have the right product."

The base price of the Guard car is £130,000, although top-of-the-range models can sell for up to £175,000.
