3:15PM Gardiner & Theobald appointed QS on £1.5m music venue scheme

Irish firm McCue Interior Fit Out Solutions has completed the refurbishment of Wembley Arena. Gardiner & Theobald was appointed QS on £1.5m music venue scheme.

The contract was JCT 1998 with Contractor's Design. McCue worked with main contractor John Sisk & Son, architect PRP Architects and planning supervisor Stace Health & Safety on the scheme.

McCue marketing manager Patrick Colhoun said: “This year has been an exciting one for McCue and we have increased our customer base in our core sectors, namely corporate/finance and retail as well as hospitality not only in the UK but also at home in Northern Ireland and throughout the Republic of Ireland.”

The job involved the fit out of the east and west concourse over three floors including restaurant and basement levels, public toilets, ticketing areas and box office, entrance foyer and merchandising units.

Specific features included installing bullet proof doors and glazing at booking office, and Amtico flooring to back-stage and hospitality areas.

All specialist joinery was manufactured at the firm’s Northern Ireland factory in Carrickfergus and transported across to Wembley.

The music venue opened in April and final interior work was completed last week.
