Apollo Fire Detectors
Apollo Fire Detectors will be showing its fire detector and interface ranges: the Series 60 (conventional) and the XP95 and Discovery (intelligent).
Of particular interest are the new sounders on display. Two types are available:
- ancillary base sounder;
- intelligent base sounder.
The ancillary base sounder incorporates a base into which an XP95 or Discovery detector is fitted and loop powered. The sounder is switched by the detector's remote output and has a sound output of 85 dB at a current consumption of 3 mA.
The intelligent base sounder offers a number of additional advantages, including multiple address allocation by means of the master/slave principle.

Brother
Marking cables and wires is simple with Brother's new PT-2480 labelling machine for electrical contractors.
With a specially designed 'rotate print' function, the machine will print text vertically on labels, making it easy to read after wrapping around the cable or wire.
The new custom template capability is designed specifically for patch panel labelling, while a Flash Rom and USB interface allows the user to download images, logos and professional symbols from a pc into the machine's memory before going on site.

The recent revision to fire alarm standard BS 5839 recognises two grades of cables: enhanced and standard. Exide Technologies
Standby battery power supplier Exide Network Power has added the M12V90FT to the front terminal Marathon range. It is designed specifically for the sme market who require reliable back up for their PABX systems.
The Marathon range comprises of four sizes: 90, 105, 125 and 155 Ah 12 V monoblocs. The 100 and 125 fit into a 19" cabinet and the 150 Ah is suitable for a 23" cabinet. This enables traditional telecom cabinets to be used as an integral part of the overall system.
The new M12V90FT has a capacity of 85 Ah at a ten hour rate, and can fit into ETSI cabinets 400 mm deep. To ease installation all batteries have been fitted with detachable carrying handles.

Fitzgerald Lighting has launched its latest Lighting Specifier, which will be available at the Roadshow.
Many new products are featured in the latest Specifier, such as the Paragon, a recessed luminaire with side optic to enable illumination of commercial offices with sensitivity to the latest addendum to LG3.

Wiring accessory manufacturer Hamilton Litestat will be promoting its latest products at the Roadshow, including the Rondo plate – an addition to its flagship Linea collection – and the Metalclad surface-mounted accessory range.
The super-slim Linea Rondo plate has rounded corners and a series of frame and plate finishes. A split-finish effect can be achieved by combining frames and cover plates: up to 16 combinations are possible.
The Metalclad range is designed for light industrial and commercial sectors. It is compatible with round steel or plastics conduit and is initially launched with one to three gang 10 A sockets, four variants of 13 A connection units, two types of 20 A double-pole switches and one and two-gang double-pole switched sockets.

Metstrut
Metstrut, the cable management division of Metsec, is launching its Rapidstrut range at the Roadshow and exhibiting its cable ladder system.
Rapidstrut is a new range of channel and prefabricated bracketry designed to reduce installation time by over 40%. The savings come from brackets that are supplied complete with spring nuts and bolts. These clip onto the channel and are fixed by a quick turn through 90 degrees, followed by tightening of the nuts and bolts.
Metstrut's cable ladder range is also a complete system. Depth ranges are from 50, 75, 100, 125 and 150 mm, providing cable fill heights from 31-120 mm.

Pirelli is aiming to revolutionise the electrical contracting sector with the launch of its FP Firefix cable installation system, allowing its FP200 Gold and FP Plus fire-resistant cables to be installed in just a tenth of the time taken using traditional fixing methods.
Pirelli has developed FP Firefix in an exclusive partnership with ITW Construction Products. Specially designed cable clips and adaptors have been produced by Pirelli to allow FP Firefix to be used with ITW's Spit Pulsa 700E cordless gas nailing tool, which is suited to large volume installations: this system fixes each clip in 10 s.

Cable management firm Rehau will be exhibiting its recently launched pvc data trunking system.
Profila data trunking measures 180 x 65 mm and, with a 60/40 split, has an upper compartment for power cables and sockets and a lower compartment for data cables. It complies with TIA/EIA, ISO/IEC and CENELEC requirements for Category 5e and 6 cables.
Rehau has incorporated a number of features into Profila data to make installation fast and straightforward. One of the most significant of these is its ability to take internal and external corners with ease.
