Building automation group Lonmark International was launched on 26 January. Formed to address the global market for open control systems, the independent organisation has grown from the existing Lonmark Interoperability Association.
It has been created to promote and advance the integration of open, multi-vendor control systems to meet increasing market demands.

Lonmark International will provide a single, independent industry solution for open systems worldwide. Web-based self-certification schemes are currently being finalised, while cross-functional systems integrator training and certification programmes are in draft form.

The corporation will be based in California with regional affiliates in other countries to provide local membership services.

Membership will be available to anyone involved in the development, distribution or marketing of open, multi-vendor control systems using ANSI/EIA 709 and related standards. For more details see www.lonmark.org.
