The London regional housing board is to be scrutinised by the London Assembly as part of a major review of the capital's borders, boundaries and governance.
The 18-month London governance review, which starts at the end of the year, will consider how to modernise the capital. Housing services and investment will be scrutinised and greater regional control over housing investment is an option.
Len Duvall, assembly member for Greenwich and Lewisham and leader of the review, said: "We will look at the regional housing board and see how it's working. We will examine whether devolution could be driven down further, with board places going to representatives of regional government, rather than central government on a regional level ."
The Association of London Government is expected to collaborate with the assembly to produce the report.
