Planning permission has been granted for a new £23m Design Academy for Liverpool John Moores University.

Whitbybird is providing the services and environmental engineering for the exemplar low energy building, which is aiming for a BREEAM "Very Good" rating. The project will have biomass boilers on site as a means of meeting its 10% on-site renewals obligation. The architect for this scheme is Rick Mather.
