Ling Joinery, near Penrith, is the firm behind the launch of a new concept, which uses high performance Siegenia-Aubi HS Portal hardware to create doors up to six panels wide, with a maximum individual panel width of three metres.

Says Ling managing director, Malcolm Chapelhow, ‘We identified a market for the lift and slide door in the UK and began by importing some components for manufacture over here. However, we found that we were being restricted by product availability and delivery timescales, so we decided to start making our own.

‘My father had used SI Siegenia-Aubi gearing on our products in the past, so when Wagner suggested we look at HS-Portal, we knew the hardware would be the right quality for the job'.

With the door ready for launch, Malcolm is already seeing steady demand, ‘We've had a great response from customers and we've got a steady stream of orders coming in already'.
