EIC has won the m&e design development and installation contract for the new Harlow Gateway Leisure Centre in Essex.

The £4.25 million contract is due to start in July, with an expected completion date of September 2009.

The leisure centre will feature an eight-lane swimming pool, covered tennis courts, gym and multipurpose sports hall that will double as a venue for conferences, concerts and exhibitions.

Project-specific installation work will include public address systems, grey-water recycling, underfloor heating and water tanks complete with specialist connections to the pool area.

EIC has plenty of experience in the field. The m&e firm has developed a strong working relationship with main contractor Leadbitter in recent years.

The two firms have worked together on leisure centres at Chelmsley Wood (West Midlands), Cirencester (Gloucestershire) and Henley-on-Thames (Oxfordshire).
