Bosch’s Praesideo all-digital voice alarm has been chosen as the base system for the new voice announcement, evacuation and PA facility at Elland Road Stadium, home of struggling Barclaycard Premiership side Leeds United AFC.
Praesideo controls all voice announcements and evacuation procedures for the entire stadium complex, covering 18 zones in the process, and is specifically configured to assist in the difficult procedure of evacuating over 40,000 people safely if an emergency occurs on a matchday.
The highly-integrated, networked Praesideo system delivers a total audio power of over 16 kW, and provides 28 digital audio channels each offering full CD quality sound. Although primarily a safety system, Bosch claims that Praesideo’s audio clarity also renders it suitable for broadcasting high quality background music, match day announcements and entertainment direct from the stadium’s DJ booth to keep fans entertained and amused before, during and after games.
The system is operated from the stadium’s main Control Room using a network controller connected to a PC via a standard TCP/IP (Ethernet) network connection.
In use, the network controller stores all control information and configuration settings plus digital pre-recorded messages. It also handles alarms, and performs full system monitoring and fault reporting to BS 5839 and EN 60849.
