A north London landlord has been given the worst possible score in an Audit Commission inspection.

Lee Housing Association was rated poor with poor prospects for improvement and given no stars in a report published on Wednesday.

The Enfield landlord, which specialises in student housing, had not set performance standards and was slow to carry out maintenance.

The inspectors said Lee should improve its regular maintenance and develop a performance measurement framework. However, it added that the landlord was very easy for tenants to contact.

The association was not available for comment.

Bristol-based Redland Housing Association, which has been under supervision for more than a year, was given a red light for governance by the Housing Corporation last Tuesday. It got an amber light for management and a green light for viability.
