Southern Electric Contracting has taken on 49 youngsters to begin their training as apprentice electricians. This brings the total number of operatives training at the company to 250. "Apprentices are the lifeblood of our company," said md Bob Hall. "If we are to maintain our current standards, it is vital that we have a highly skilled, safety conscious and motivated workforce. We have found that the best way to achieve this is to take on and train staff to our own standards from day one."
