With the initial findings of the Commission for Racial Equality’s formal investigation being issued this month, the effect of physical regeneration on community cohesion has been highlighted once again.

Regeneration is about people and the best way to overcome fear (the biggest threat to a stable community), is with knowledge – of how people live, what they believe in, how civic structures work, how to change things. Our response to deprivation and exclusion says more about us as human beings than almost anything else.
