The first Glass Age Roadshow took place on 20th October at Old Trafford football stadium, Manchester. Exhibitors collected leads on the day, and also now have contact details of the 400 that pre-registered. Further roadshows are expected to run in 2006

Yes we had glaziers but no Glazers.

Visitors could break up the day with a guided tour of Old Trafford football stadium. This fascinating behind-the-scenes tour didn’t include the trophy room, perhaps because it getting a bit dusty.

Rocplas

Decorative glass specialists Rocplas are very excited about their Roc Deco sales and marketing package.

Rather than select products from a catalogue, customers can see the made up samples in the display case and get a true feel for what they’re buying.

There are still only around 50 cases in the field, and Rocplas is keen to push this exclusive sales aid. Rocplas, tel. 01254 57637,

Bohle

From its enormous catalogue, Bohle showed its hand lifter range, new mirror adhesive and brought along samples of its glass cleaner.

Minimal setting up time

Part of the Roadshow’s appeal is the minimal setting up time. Stands and displays were assembled the day before or in the morning before doors open, and break-down is down at the close of the event in the late afternoon.

Pilkington’s pop-up stand makes clear its twin promotional thrusts: K glass, the UK’s most popular low-E option, and Activ self-cleaning glass.
